Celebrate this year's National Day by giving back to the community! Together with the SG Cares Coordinating Committee, which includes the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) and the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), and along with other community and corporate partners, we hope that everyone will play a part in giving back to the community in this place we all call home. This spirit of giving and caring will define who we are as a people and our future together.

NDP 2018 promises to be exciting, engaging and emotive as we celebrate everyday Singaporeans - Singaporeans across different generations who aspire, who persevere despite the odds, who through their determination, achieve the extraordinary and define their way of life that in turn inspire others. In line with this year's theme, "We Are Singapore", the Show segment will emphasise on "We", in recognition of our people who share a common identity, a common Singaporean spirit.

In a celebration of the strength and unity of our people, this year's National Day Parade (NDP) Parade & Ceremony (P&C) segment will bring together over 2,600 participants from different walks of life in a traditional and dignified parade that represents who we are as a nation. This demonstration of will and commitment to secure and defend our home will consist of 33 marching contingents, the Combined Schools Choir - a crowd favourite returning after a five-year hiatus - and the largest combined Military Tattoo performance for an NDP held at the Float.
Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Shawn Ingkiriwang is the Commanding Officer for 140 Squadron, Air Combat Command. LTC Ingkiriwang, 36 years old, enlisted in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in 2001 and commissioned in 2003 as a Pilot.
In his 17 years of service, LTC Ingkiriwang served in various units, including as a Branch Head in the Air Intelligence Department. A Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship holder, LTC Ingkiriwang graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Tay Ban Heng is the Brigade Sergeant Major of 7th Singapore Infantry Brigade. MWO Tay, 44 years old, enlisted in the SAF in 1999 and joined the Guard Formation the same year.
In his 19 years of service, MWO Tay has held various appointments including Officer Commanding, Kilo Company, Specialist Cadet School and graduated with honours from the Joint Advance Warrant Officer Course in New Zealand.
