(A National Day Tele-Movie)

9th August, Sunday 11am – 12.30pm

SYNOPSIS

Grace was uprooted from Singapore when she was eight, when her father moved to New York to work. Grace lived for nine years in the States. Though she managed to assimilate herself into the lifestyle of a New Yorker, somehow, she found that her own values are still at odds with her American school friends.

When Grace was 17, she went through a bad break up with an American Chinese named Terry. At the same time, her father had to take on extra work load when his colleagues got laid off due to the recession. Her father Mr. Lim decided to send Grace to stay in Singapore, and visit her grandmother, as a way to get over the bad break up.

Grace encounters all kinds of culture shock when Amah and her friends introduce her to the three pillars of LOCAL CULTURE – SHOPPING, MAKAN, AND KARAOKE!

Grace desperately wants to go home but learns to her horror, that due to the recession, her dad has to work longer hours and that meant that Grace would have to stay longer in Singapore.

And to make things worse, Terry flew to Singapore to look for her.

Now caught between the boy from a home she used to know, and the boy from the home she has always known, Grace has to choose.

And to discover for herself the true meaning of home.
